What to Do before the Season Starts and the Off Season
Grades Check in with your teachers to make sure you have all of your assignments in and are preparing for tests and quizzes.
Run Lacrosse is a game of speed and endurance.
Strength Do pushups when you wake up (2 sets of burnouts) and sit-ups when you go to bed (100 front, 50 each on sides)
Agility Find a line somewhere and practice jumping over it, changing directions, using fast feet.
Stick work Get a couple of guys in the neighborhood catching and throwing. While we will be looking at strength, speed, agility, and endurance, obviously stick skills will help. Check for "Winter Throw Arounds"
Talk You know people who should come out who want to go home and sit in front of the TV. This is your team, get those guys who have nothing else to do, but could help us reach the State Championship game again.
Home Go home and help your parents around the house. They will be driving you home from practice, going to your games, possibly buying you that new stick you have wanted. Build up some credit with them now.
